An original 1944 Allied Military Authority 5 Schilling banknote, issued for use in Austria following the Second World War.

These historic occupation notes were printed by the Allied Military Authority and circulated in Austria between 1945 and 1947. They form an important part of post-war European and military numismatic history and remain popular with collectors of WWII memorabilia, Allied occupation currency and world banknotes.

The note features the distinctive 'Allierte Militärbehörde' (Allied Military Authority) design with 'Serie 1944' and 'Fünf Schilling' on the obverse.
