An original ancient Roman antoninianus or radiate coin, dating from approximately the 3rd century AD.

The obverse retains a recognisable radiate portrait of a Roman emperor facing right, with portions of the surrounding Latin legend still visible.

Coins of this type circulated extensively during the turbulent third century, particularly during the period known as the Crisis of the Third Century.
