WWII Commonwealth Gas Mask Respirator Transit Bag Canvas Named
Original-style WWII Commonwealth military gas mask respirator transit bag, made from khaki canvas with a shoulder strap, metal fittings and a press-stud fastening flap.
The bag features a reinforced green canvas base, ventilation eyelets and internal compartments. It also retains handwritten identification reading “V. McCANN” and “SGT WHITE 126”, adding an interesting personal detail.
The interior pockets appear to have been modified with makeshift stitching, possibly during its working life. A characterful piece of military equipment suitable for a militaria collection, historical display or restoration project.

Condition
Fair vintage condition, with considerable signs of age and use throughout.
The canvas has numerous marks, stains, discolouration, fading and general ingrained dirt. Metal components display tarnishing and oxidation. There is wear to the edges, stitching and strap fittings.
The internal pockets have makeshift stitching and appear to have been modified or repaired. Handwritten names and numbers are present inside.
